January 26, 2015 is a date that will forever lie in the hearts of the community of Barbers Hill: the day that an alumni Eagle was taken from us.  Luke Arnold was an outstanding student that graduated from Barbers Hill High School, class of 2006.  He showed true leadership in his ability of being a captain on the football team, member in the Ag department, and achieving the status of an honor student.  Luke was a phenomenal friend, family member, and member of the Barbers Hill community.  He spent his free time being a typical guy: hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.  Luke graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2010 with a business management degree.  He soon started his career with Enterprise Products as part of the Distribution Group and became a strong leader in the Enterprise Marketing Group.  He married his high school sweetheart and later had his first born son, Brady.

A tragic ATV accident ripped our beloved Luke away from us. The outpour of support from our community began right away, from the moment we stepped in the hospital to this day. It has been amazing to see so many people come together to honor Luke.

In all of Luke’s efforts of being a student, family man, and eventually part of a world-wide corporation he showed true aspirations of being a leader.  The Luke Arnold Memorial Scholarship Foundation was started by his closely-knit group of friends to help keep his legacy alive.  The Scholarship Foundation is presented to two deserving Barbers Hill High School Seniors each year. The seniors are selected by submitting an essay describing how they have demonstrated leadership both inside and outside of school. Luke’s family, friends, and many members of the community hope that the selected recipients have the genuine qualities of a leader and will continue to be a positive influence in the community of Barbers Hill, as Luke was. The Luke Arnold Memorial Scholarship Foundation is also actively involved in numerous programs throughout the area. It is our goal to give back to our community and help by any means possible. The way we all know Luke would do if he was still here.

The scholarship foundation would like to ask everyone to save the date for our Annual Fairway to Heaven Golf Tournament’s which take place in May.

Please continue to keep the Arnold family and friends in your prayers.

Long Live Luke’s Legacy.
